No pizza, only Russians

This article is practically dripping with Narrative:
The ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, one of multiple congressional panels examining Russia’s intervention, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday that there was “circumstantial evidence of collusion.” There also is “direct evidence . . . of deception, and that’s where we begin the investigation,” said Rep. Adam Schiff of California.

U.S. intelligence agencies charged in January that Russian President Vladimir Putin had ordered the offensive, in which cyber operatives also hacked tens of thousands of emails from Democratic National Committee staff, Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta and other Democrats.

A top priority of investigators is to determine who delivered those hacked emails to WikiLeaks, a London-based transparency site that published them online, the sources said. News stories about the emails embarrassed Clinton at key points in the campaign. WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has denied that the Russian government was the source of the email dump.

As for the bots, they carried links not only to news stories but also to Democratic emails posted on WikiLeaks, especially those hacked from Podesta and made public in October, said Philip Howard, a professor at the Oxford University Internet Institute who has researched the bot attacks.

Howard said that, as an example, bots had spread links to fictional stories that accused Clinton of involvement in running a child-sex ring in the basement of a Washington pizza parlor. The posts inspired a North Carolina man to drive to Washington and fire an assault weapon in the restaurant, according to police reports.
I'm frankly astonished that they haven't tried to claim that the Russians are responsible for putting the evil murder art in the Podestas' houses yet.

Notice how all these stories do the same thing and exaggerate the actual accusations in order to try to make it look ridiculous and unworthy of investigation. I don't recall anyone ever saying Clinton was actually running anything at Comet Pizza. Let's face it, she's so inept that if she'd ever tried to run a child-sex ring, the videos would have somehow ended up being broadcast live on Nickelodeon.

And it seems a little strange that no one ever seems to ask why someone would drive from North Carolina to Washington DC for the express purpose of not shooting anyone. Did the guy ever even get charged?

These investigations parallel the workings of the leftist mind.

Leftists don't use chains of direct causation, instead they use feelings of vague indirect association as a substitute for logic. The brainwashing that passes for education these days reinforces that type of mental activity, which in no way should be categorized as "thinking".

One thing we know is that Trump can't be trusted to tell truths, as today's hearing made clear: No evidence at Justice or NSA of any surveillance by Obama.

"Notice how all these stories do the same thing and exaggerate the actual accusations in order to try to make it look ridiculous and unworthy of investigation."

There's no evidence. Although, there's lots of evidence that Trump hung out with a pedophile.

"And it seems a little strange that no one ever seems to ask why someone would drive from North Carolina to Washington DC for the express purpose of not shooting anyone."

Why would an early member of the Alt Right, Timonthy McVeigh, drive so far just to blow up a federal building.

There's one other little wrinkle that this Narrative is supposed to keep under wraps, though it's not a grand scheme-level effect.

The Influence Shills first become Bot-level from the Chinese a number of years ago. Anything anti-China would get absolutely flooded with Concern Trolls. That's probably around 2009-2010 range. Somewhere in the 2012-2013 range, the paid Russian Shills got in on the game and were really evident during the Crimea event. (Twitter was a heavy target then.)

The DNC really getting involved seems to have started after the epic disaster from 2014 Election. Before that, it was much more Corporate focused. (Plus some Obama-era laws funneled money that way.) Now the new Correct the Record, called ShareBlue, has ties to China, so it's more of a general shop Propaganda outfit. It's the reason we see more invasions of Shills when certain keywords show up.

Anonymous Looking Glass March 20, 2017 8:40 PM

Strange no official willing to be named, let alone Barry, is willing to stand up on his hind legs and issue any kind of categorical denial, isn't it? For those like you, who are a little slow on the uptake, here's what a categorical denial would sound like: "Neither I, nor anyone else in my administration, ordered or carried out any surveillance of the Trump campaign."

Instead, we have careful parsing of words, reminiscent of Rapin' Bill's thoughts about the meaning of "is." "No PHYSICAL wiretap." "No wiretap OF TRUMP TOWER." Anonymous, presumably nonexistent high-placed sources tell us that so-and-so issued a categorical denial, but we can't quote him directly.

There's only one reason to engage in this kind of overly-legalistic pilpul, and it ain't because Barack Hussein is innocent of spying on a political opponent.

I was just wondering that the other day -- actually, wondering if he's been disappeared.

I get a kick out of the way they keep mentioning details about the story they insist is totally fictional. It's an obvious honeypot -- they want curious people who hunt for it on search engines to land on their own misinformation pages rather than a site that's investigating it. Otherwise, they'd bury it competely, the way they would have handled it pre-Internet.

How many warrants have been denied by the rubber-stamp FISA courts? What is it, something like 12? Out of 35,000+ applications? It would be remarkable (and rather damning) if one of those 12 were an Obama attempt to spy on a political opponent, wouldn't it?

Gosh, I hope no one went back later, and resubmitted the application, omitting some relevant facts. That would look even worse.

Doesn't look like Comey's willing to say anything about FISA. I wonder why?

It's remarkable that the progressive establishment is still promoting this paranoid, xenophobic "Russians under muh bed!" conspiracy theory. Don't they know how ludicrous it looks?

Or perhaps they think they have no choice, because they need some justification for the surveillance of the Trump campaign, no matter how flimsy, beyond just "I have a phone and a pen, and I'm allowed to spy on everyone. The media, allied heads of government, political opponents..." When the evidence comes out, Barry can just say "Hey, I thought President Trump was under my bed, with the Russians! It was an understandable mistake. No biggie."

Yes, the Comet Ping-Pong assailant was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, carrying a pistol without a license (almost impossible to obtain in DC), and carrying arms across state lines with criminal intent. He's facing 15 years. They announced in the DC area news the other day that he's reached a plea deal. The details on that aren't out yet, but it's expected that he will plea guilty to lesser charges.

Yeah, they kinda painted themselves in the corner, because they've spent the last year insisting that they knew Trump was in bed with the Russians, but the only way they could have known something like that is with some kind of spy in his camp, personal or electronic. Dear Trump,

Trash talk, gestures, and threats may play well to domestic crowds, but they don’t get you far in international relations. If Trump engages in skirmishes over the Deep State’s surveillance of him, but carries water for its disastrous policies, including its surveillance of the American people, then his election was a waste of time. He can recognize the evolving multipolar world and negotiate, compromise, and deal, or he can try to maintain the US’s fading dominance. If he chooses the former, he has a shot at greatness. If he chooses the latter, his presidency will fail with the US empire.

What's to stop a Trump allied businessman from offering a one million dollar bounty for verified evidence of illegal spying on Trump to any whistleblower who comes forward? Oh I know the media and derp staters would say you cannot offer someone a bounty to break federal law, but then the FBI and NSA directors both said they didn't have any knowledge of any Obama ordered wiretapping. I noted the reference narrowly tailored only to directly ordered by Obama surveillance in that bastard Rep. Schiff's question and smelled a pre-arranged denial. So if there's no lawful wiretap much less FISA warrant now that the NYT is changing its January 20 story and attacking Louise Mensch of Heat Street for reporting the of the election that there was...what inducement to reveal a legal wiretap and thus violate federal law would the bounty represent? Time to create a zugzwang for these globalist deep state bastards in 4D chess. I'm reaching the point where, if there were ANY evidence at all, they would have found it by now.

"All your digital data is stored in Utah."

And both GCHQ and Mossad have access to the raw data.

The Russians under my bed told the truth that FAKE NEWS from Carlos Slims & 5 jews should have. Fox fired its judge for saying TJTB used UK's MI5 to spy on TRUMP

Checking my SJW secret decoder ring, Also, it says "Drink Ovaltine."

Might want to get it checked out, it says Drink "the kool aid"

Why would an early member of the Alt Right, Timonthy McVeigh, drive so far just to blow up a federal building.

Because he knew that by killing people the govt would get the message there are NO MORE FREE WACOS, but you can have all the MOVE HOUSES you want. Seriously there are even faggots that can figure that out, what the actor did was as theatric as fights in gay bars.

The lone rifle shot somehow managed to hit the Comet Ping Pong business computer hard drive rendering it completely useless and the data contained on it irretrievable. Yes, I shit you not...another magic bullet.

Where did you see that at?

He never got a chance cuz they were constantly kissing his ass, purely disinterested unpaid commenter

the media didn't just kiss his ass but David French kissing it.

Have you seen Nickelodeon lately? You may be on to something without even realizing it.

What kind of ads do they run on "Mary Sue and the Mudsharks"

"What's to stop a Trump allied businessman from offering a one million dollar bounty for verified evidence of illegal spying on Trump to any whistleblower who comes forward? You cannot prosecute an American for revealing a wiretap that was illegal and outsourced to some contractors like Booz Allen Hamilton or the Brits."

Yesterday, Comey responded to Gowdy with the distinction between a 702 and FISA in which he stated that they were not discussing a 702 which doesn't require approval. They are talking about FISA which does.

Interesting that GCHQ chairman Robert Hannigan suddenly and unexpectedly resigned, 3 days after President Trump's inauguration, "for personal reasons," to "spend more time with his family." Uh huh.

Remember everyone, stay on message. The important point is that Putin, with Trump's assistance, remotely hacked into US voting machines, and was controlling them via satellite. Honest. This is a perfectly reasonable narrative, while the idea that Barry, a man with a history of spying on allied heads of government and friendly journalists, would use the all-seeing eye of the modern surveillance state against a political opponent, is completely unreasonable.

"So info can be stored in the shed, but that doesnt mean so eone has the keys."

Exactly. They spend billions to collect all this information and store it, but they would NEVER access it, let alone use it, because reasons. Makes sense.

@42 "they're left claiming they have loads of Russian dirt on him, but they never did anything to get that dirt."

John McCuckyMcCain gave it to them, in a dossier, with his 'genetic material' on it. (McCucky sorta looks okay in a blue dress...)

"Vox I just watched the corrosion darkstream and wanted to mention that Sundance at CTH is thinking that Comey is a deep state black hat. I'm not sure at all and am just hoping Trump knows what he is doing. Here is the link to the CTH post: https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2017/03/20/it-took-a-freshman-gop-congresswoman-to-pull-the-mask-from-fbi-director-comey/"

Comey is responsible for Hitlery's Senate campaign that nearly failed because of her shady characteristics during Travelgate and other scandals during Billy's time in office. She nearly got indicted back then.

@67 "What happened to the US Navy's differentiation between cruisers, destroyers, and frigates...Not to mention, LCL ships?"

(Old Navy scuttlebutt, but likely true): Congress denied funding for "destroyers"; so the Navy built a "destroyer" class (in 1983-1994) and *called* it a cruiser. The Aegis class "cruiser." The "Tico"(tie'-ko) class, named for lead ship, the USS Ticonderoga.

"The Navy built the AEGIS cruisers using the hull and machinery designs of Spruance class destroyers." More here: http://www.navy.mil/navydata/fact_display.asp?cid=4200&tid=800&ct=4 . And here: http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/ticonderoga/

'nother bit o' trivia: There was a time, back then when, as you drove up the NJ Turnpike, you passed a farm-field and sitting out in the middle was the entire superstructure of a Tico class "cruiser" -- where they did training and testing of gear. Both a jarring and a delightful surprise to see it.

@85 "At the hearings, Mr Comey said: “With respect to the president's tweets about alleged wiretapping directed at him by the prior administration, I have no information that supports those tweets and we have looked carefully inside the FBI; the Department of Justice has asked me to share with you that the answer is the same for the Department of Justice in all its components."

"I have no information that supports.... I DO have information locked in my desk drawer that might tell us something about it, but I haven't looked at it, and I'm not going to look at it! Let me stress: 'I have NO information that supports...'
"And we looked in every single corridor "inside the FBI" and found nothing but trash cans and plants -- the green kind!"

(He's even a BAD b.s. artist / parser of meanings ("what the meaning of 'is' is....")! Wonder if he practices these sentences in the mirror in the morning?)

Avalanche, I used to work at that "Cornfield Cruiser" in Moorestown, NJ. It was an interesting 5 years. It's a Navy site. A big building with a Tico superstructure in the middle of some cornfields.

@93 Hey Eric, I was stationed at the Philly Navy base in those years -- "the Tico in a field" always gave me a great lift of heart when driving up to NY.!

Let's tempt Poe's Law and see how they might. Hmmm. I got an angle. Not so much putting it there, but interpreting it. Russian bots spread the fake interpretation that stunning and brave works of art by the likes of Abramovic and Djurdjevic were deranged creepshows only a psychopath could enjoy.
